Des Nedhe Group Defence congratulates our partner, TKMS, on its selection as the preferred bidder for Canada’s landmark Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP), a major step forward in strengthening the country’s future naval capability and sovereignty.

The project will support the acquisition of 12 conventionally powered, under-ice-capable submarines and critically enhance the Royal Canadian Navy’s ability to detect, deter and respond to threats across Canada’s Arctic, Atlantic and Pacific approaches.

DNG Defence is proud to be part of the cooperation agreement with TKMS, alongside Songhees Development Corporation and Glooscap Ventures, establishing a pan-Canadian framework to expand Indigenous involvement in Canada’s future submarine program.

The agreement reflects the importance of early, meaningful Indigenous engagement in major defence programs and creates pathways connected to industrial participation, workforce development, ITB delivery, governance and long-term sustainment.

As Canada moves forward with one of the most consequential defence procurement priorities in a generation, there is a major opportunity to build domestic industrial capacity while creating long-term economic opportunities for Indigenous Nations and businesses.

DNG Defence recognizes the leadership of Public Services and Procurement Canada and the Department of National Defence in moving this critical national priority forward.

The next generation of Canada’s naval sovereignty is taking shape. DNG Defence looks forward to continuing its work with TKMS and Indigenous partners across the country.
